As a dedicated childcare photographer, I love visiting Bayswater’s kindergartens and childcare centres, providing a relaxed and fun experience for the little ones. Leading this exciting new chapter is Sally and Naomi, who bring together a combination of over 40 years of rich experience in the early childhood sector, with many of them in leadership and management. Naomi will bring her vast experience to the Centre Director role which gives her a unique and holistic understanding of the sector. Her hands-on approach and deep commitment ensure that every child, family, and educator is supported with genuine care and insight. Both centres are open 49 weeks of the year, closing for 1 day during the year for professional development and approximately two weeks between the end of December and early January.
Reem loves that her classroom is full of different and interesting books – some words she’s seen before but others are new! Our Kindergarten program is developed from the National Early Years Learning Framework and The Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework. The best way to find the Kindergarten that’s right for your child and your family is to begin with the end in mind. Local schools, shops and transport are all within walking distance of the centre, which is located in a quiet suburban street with a horseshoe shaped driveway for easy drop off and pickup. Mary Oliver asked “What will you do with your one wild and precious life”, I cannot think of anything more fulfilling than what I get to do every day at Nido.
You’ll notice the Victorian Kinder Tick is displayed at Choklits because we are accredited to deliver a funded program for both 3 and 4-year-olds. Co-learning is the way of the future which, as we are learning, will include the need for lots of resilience and adaptability. We realise we cannot predict the careers they will have, but what we can predict is the skills and dispositions needed to have lifelong success. We have found that because of the mixed age group, the younger children benefit from the positive models of older children, often aspiring to their levels of capability. At the same time, the older children rise to the expectations of the younger children and teachers, are more responsible and enjoy having opportunities to lend and use their expertise.
