Pre-School Kindergarten
It’s the perfect place for children to play and interact with their friends while you're away. A simple idea embedded in our philosophy to create a childcare west pennant hills happy place for all children and families has taken some of our everyday enjoyment such as singing and dancing to spectacular stage performances, theatre plays and concerts. Creativity brings out the festivity and the preparations that come with rehearsals, props and staging generates the excitement and enjoyment that makes each concert unique and memorable.
Small classes and a safe, fun learning environment have been ideal for our family. Yes we use the Kinderm8 program to provide newsfeeds and daily journals. You can use this as an app or on a computer to see your child’s progress and involvement in our educational program which links to the Early Years Learning Framework. At Pennant Hills Preschool (PHPS), we believe that "being happy" is the first and most important starting point in becoming a successful learner.
We were so pleased with how Jordan has been settling in and he really loves to go each week to see (you, Lynelle, and Marie, and now Jenny too) his teachers. And we’re really happy to see the dedication and genuineness of the teachers at the Hills Montessori. Choosing a quality early learning centre for your child is one of the most important decisions you will make. Throughout the year the children learn about healthy eating, such as what are 'always' and 'sometimes' foods. This occurs as part of the curriculum, including projects, food and cooking demonstrations, visitors to the centre and presentations from external organisations.
Early Childhood Education Centres consist of a Long Day Care Centre including a kindergarten program and two Sessional Kindergartens. Kindergarten is an educational program provided to children in their year before school. Our educators encourage our students to play an active role in environmental care and sustainable development by providing them with a personalised learning experience. Your baby will enjoy engaging in both our indoor and outdoor nursery environments with planned experiences like songs and story time, followed by morning tea. To BE Me is our exclusive learning program designed for each age & stage of a child’s first years, tailored to their age, interests & strengths. Their pathway is personalised, with every milestone captured to makes the link between play & learning clear & memorable.
They are also very inclusive of all the parents, providing fantastic social gatherings for all holidays and special events. I highly recommend this centre for children joining at any age. Another wonderful learning journey came about through the struggles to help children go through the many unhappy moments in the early childhood years. These struggles are now encompassed in what we call EQ (Emotional Intelligence), and teachers making each struggle a learning opportunity to support children's happiness.
I speak to the Director at every drop off and pick up and she always makes time to greet us. Our Centre is a recipient of funding as part of the NSW Government’s Start Strong Program which subsidises the cost of preschool in long day care. If children would like to, or need to, there’s an opportunity to sleep, rest or relax. If children don’t need to rest, our Flying Start to School learning program continues, where they can enjoy our outdoor space – this might include playing games in a group or working together on a construction project. Children come together again from across the centre to enjoy age-appropriate, planned experiences.
Binnowee Kindergarten caters for 40 children each day in two classes and provides a high quality early learning program. Our preschool is open from 8.30am to 4pm during school terms, for children from 3 to 5 years of age. When they graduate from the childcare centre, they are well-rounded young people who have a passion for learning, are ready for a globalised world, and are motivated to become engaged, contributing members of society. As part of the Kindalin Education Network (KEN), we bring leading experts and preschool specialists to West Pennant Hills to enrich our learning through music, movement, and creative arts workshops and programs. Our exciting calendar is filled with regular weekly and monthly activities, as well as special seasonal events, ensuring children are constantly engaged in new and enriching experiences. At Kindalin, we provide high-quality childcare and early education that inspires curiosity, builds confidence, and nurtures a lifelong love of learning.
Being with children is the most rewarding job, as everyday you get to see them grow, learn and change into strong, independent people. Children receive their own My Learning and Development Book, which is updated regularly with their progress. To BE Me is underpinned by Guardian’s world class teaching program that has been developed over many years of research and thousands of hours observing how children develop.
Our team facilitates educational experiences using the learning outcomes within the framework. This supports children to establish lifelong skills, knowledge and cultural development. The facilities at the centre are modern and purpose-built, designed to reflect the diverse learning needs of the children. The classrooms feature large floor-to-ceiling windows that bathe the rooms in natural light.
When children are happy, they become more open to new learning and will more likely tackle challenges in positive ways and in the spirited minds of children, nothing will seem impossible. Children will develop 'happy' attitudes toward learning that can take children to all sorts of new and wondrous learning - like learning another language and being a leader or a helper. When children are happy, they are more likely to have a go and to enjoy the game rather than being more concerned about the outcome (winning/losing, what others may think, or getting answers right or wrong). EQ is fundamental in many aspects of the preschool's activities; in our dance classes; art and writing galleries; group sports activities as well as in numeracy and literacy game challenges.

My son attended 3 years of preschool and Kindy and he loved every minute of it. My son’s confidence, social skills, reading and maths skills have soared this year in Kindy and I feel very confident sending him to year 1 next year. The environment is warm and welcoming, and the educators are caring, patient, and dedicated.
